This is a special Stu Smoothie recipe, by my husband, the home chef, Stuart. It’s my first smoothie post and one of my favourite smoothies, featured today on Stuart’s birthday. Happy birthday sweetie!

My amazing husband Stuart is a blender genius. We purchased a quality KitchenAid Blender recently and have started making smoothies in the morning. Although we aren’t quite up to the level of you smoothie professionals with a BlendTech or VitaMix, this blender is a great choice for a lower price point. We love making smoothies because you don’t lose any of the fibre or nutrients like in juicing. It’s a great addition to a healthy breakfast or as a snack.

Our smoothies are packed with fruits & vegetables full of fibre and nutrients. To make this recipe low FODMAP, do not use overly ripe bananas (high in fructose) and replace the dates (high in GOS) with a little maple syrup. However, if you are in the stage of your low FODMAP diet where you are including a moderate amount of FODMAP foods, then this recipe as is will work just fine.
